Jaua: Venezuelan opposition is financed by Israel

Venezuela’s Foreign Minister, Elias Jaua, on a visit to Egypt to coordinate Venezuela’s government “humanitarian aid to the Gaza people,” declared that the Venezuelan opposition receives funding from Israel.

“Let us be reminded that the Venezuelan opposition has close links to security groups of the State of Israel and receives funds from the State of Israel,” Jaua declared.

The opposition umbrella organization Mesa de la Unidad Democrática (MUD), had criticized the “swiftness” of the Venezuelan government’s aid to Gaza at a time when “Venezuelans are suffering from scarcity and crime.”

According to Jaua, the MUD’s criticism is part of a “payment” for the funds the opposition has received from the State of Israel.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center recently issued a communique warning that “Anti-Jewish incitement from Maduro regime exceeds predecessor Chavez and violates the Inter-American Convention against Racism.” According to the Center, Maduro has harassed the local Jewish community “under the pretext of the Gaza war.”
