Minutes ago President
Maduro announced he will break “diplomatic and political relations” with Panama
because the country is conspiring against the Venezuelan government.
Panamá had asked for
a meeting of the Organization of American States to discuss the situation in Venezuela.
The announcement was
made by Maduro at the Cuartel de la
Montaña during the ceremonies commemorating the first anniversary of the
passing of President Chávez. “I will not allow any country to conspire against Venezuela
by asking for the intervention of a peace force. (…) You will have to forgive
me, but this is the right way to celebrate the first year of the parting of our
Comandante Chávez: in the heat of the
battle,” Maduro declared.
