(The latest from the front. With Reports of the first casualties)
Yesterday, as part of the government’s announced
offensive in the economic war, household electrical appliance stores belonging
to the chains DAKA and Pablo Electrónica,
were
raided by government officials for allegedly selling imported products with
an overprice of 1000%. Several DAKA stores managers were arrested in the raids,
becoming the first prisoners of war taken during the offensive.
During the raids President Maduro explained
that “when the bourgeoisie feels powerful, they take away from the people and
become rich.”
Also yesterday, before the raids, President
Maduro affirmed that he is already wining the “economic war”.
This is how the Agencia
Venezolana de Noticias reported, in English, his declarations:
Maduro: We're defeating the economic war
Caracas, 08 Nov.
AVN.- Venezuelan people and the Bolivarian Government are defeating the effects
of the economic war expressed in speculation and hoarding of staple goods, said
President Nicolas Maduro.
In his Twitter profile @NicolasMaduro,
the President informed about the opening of socialist Christmas fairs across
the country, which sell staple goods and items used for the celebration of
these holidays.
About the matter, he said that the
Government is "We're serving the People with Love and overcoming the
effects of economic war. Let's defeat and achieve prosperity."
In addition, he criticized that private
media in the country "became a cartel confirming their economic war
against our homeland."
President Nicolas Maduro has claimed
that the national media stirs up with sensationalist headlines an economic war
headed by Fedecamaras, a federation that gathers major private companies in the
country.

(I personally like the “Let’s defeat and
achieve prosperity,” for a future revolutionary propaganda slogan.)
